Letter: Pro-choice is not pro-abortion

I can’t believe that in 2019, I feel a need to write a letter like this.

People who claim to be “pro-life” completely miss the boat, in that they mistake pro-choice for pro-abortion. People who are pro-choice believe in women having sovereignty over their own bodies; each individual chooses how and when their families come about. For a woman to vote to have her rights curtailed completely dumbfounds me.

If you don’t believe in abortion then don’t have one, but please keep your religious beliefs out of our laws.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
