Vancouver police say a man was assaulted by two men when he went to meet whom he believed was a woman he’d met online.

Officers were dispatched at 5:46 a.m. Monday to the 4300 block of Northeast 66th Avenue for the report of an assault. Medics responded to the same address a short time later.

The victim texted a woman he’d met online for a date, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email. He went to meet the woman, only to have two men show up, hit him in the face and demand money, Kapp said.

Police described the assailants as a black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 210 pounds, and a white man about 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 250 pounds. Both suspects appeared to be in their 30s.

The men were not located, and the investigation is continuing, Kapp said.
