Boys basketball: Evergreen 70, Hockinson 54

EVERGREEN 70, HOCKINSON 54 — Mario Herring scored a game-high 22 points as the Plainsmen ran away from the Hawks in the second half to earn the non-league road victory.

The score was 34-28 at halftime before Evergreen broke it open.

“They did a good job speeding the game up in the second half,” Hawks coach Jon Warner said.

Evergreen’s Izaac Romero added 15 points, Jaden Stanley scored 13 and Zyell Griffin chipped in 10 for the 4-0 Plainsmen.

Micah Paulsen (17 points) and Jeremiah Faulstick (14) paced the Hawks.
