The defending 3A champion Falcons turned to their defense, especially in the final eight minutes to earn their first win of the season.
Prairie outscored Snohomish 13-0 in the fourth quarter.
Coach Hala Corral’s message: one stop, one score.
“We had to do one stop at a time,” Corral said. “Their defense was amazing.”
Corral added Prairie also had zero fourth-quarter turnovers and failed to allow any second-chance opportunities by Snohomish.
Claire Heitschmidt led Prairie with 12 points and Meri Dunford added a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds.
