Boys basketball: Seton Catholic 71, Kalama 40

Zach Cowger scored 15 points, Luke Pitzer added 14 and the Cougars used a fast start to cruise to a non-league home win.

Seton (3-4) outscored the Chinooks 36-9 in the first half.

“Our effort and intensity has gotten better the last few games,” Cougars coach Kris Small said. “It’s really been driving us after a slow start in which we didn’t have that.”

Jackson Esary scored 14 points to lead Kalama (1-4).
