Gabe Anderson scored 20 points to lead five Seton scorers in double figures at the SunDome Shootout in Yakima.

Xavian Rushing scored 16 and Andrew Olson added 14 for the Cougars, who hope to use the event as a dress rehearsal for the 1A state tournament in Yakima.

Friday’s win over a team that placed fourth in last season’s 1A state tournament shows that the Cougars (4-4) can compete with the state’s best.

“We came into this season with that expectation,” said Seton coach Kris Small. “We’ve talked to the kids about adversity. Out of the gate, we’ve experienced that and learned to overcome it.”

Luke Pitzer and Kellen Ball each scored 12 points for Seton.
