ZILLAH 67, LA CENTER 58 — In a rematch of last year’s 1A state semifinals, the Wildcats dropped a competitive game in the SunDome Shootout. Hunter Ecklund scored 25 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had five assists. Evan Norris added 14 points and six rebounds.

An 18-10 second-quarter advantage for the defending champion Leopards proved the difference.

“This was something we’ve been looking forward to since the schedule came out,” La Center coach Jeremy Ecklund said. “Zillah is really good. They’re relentless in what they do.”

La Center, which dropped to 6-1, continues its trip to Yakima against White River at noon on Saturday.
