CENTRAL VANCOUVER — Clark County-based Columbia Credit Union recently made donations to three veterans groups, including to Vancouver-based Community Military Appreciation Committee, Home with Heroes, and Portland-based Returning Veterans Project. A total of $30,600 was raised through the Veterans Appreciation Loan Promotion. It was split evenly between the three organizations, each receiving $10,200. The loan promotion ran from Oct. 1 through Veterans Day. Columbia Credit Union donated $100 for every qualifying loan taken out on a new or used car, truck, boat, motorcycle, RV, snowmobile or ATV. In total, 306 loans qualified for donations. In the last five years of running the promotion, the credit union has donated $102,100 to local veterans groups. “We take great pride in our community mission of making life better for our members and neighbors, and this is a great example of that mission in action,” Columbia Credit Union President and CEO Steve Kenny said in a news release. “The veterans in our community have selflessly served our country. Columbia Credit Union is humbled and honored to support veterans and their families through these vital local organizations.” Columbia Credit Union operates 14 locations, with 12 in Clark County and two in Portland.
