1. Choc it up to love

“A Chocolate Affair to Remember” comes to Camas on Feb. 1 with chocolate treats, family activities and crafts, art shows and a chance to win sweet chocolate prizes from local merchants. Downtown businesses will offer chocolate goodies and other romantic gifts, plus there will be wine tastings at some locations. Other perks include a kissing-themed photo booth, free chair massages and free hair glitter and sparkles. The event is also the first anniversary of Nick and Tami Calais, who were wed on First Friday in Camas in February. The fun happens from 5 to 8 p.m. along Northeast Fourth Avenue. www.downtowncamas.com

2. Bertie and the brain

Even if you’re not familiar the hapless Bertie Wooster and his brainy butler Jeeves (a “gentleman’s gentleman”), you’ll want to snag tickets to “Jeeves Takes a Bow,” at Magenta Theater, 1108 Main St., Vancouver, before this witty play — an adaptation of a P.G. Wodehouse story — sells out. The action takes place in 1930s New York, where Jeeves has joined his employer on holiday. Bertie’s talent for trouble gets him mixed up with a local thug and accidentally engaged, and Jeeves must think of an exit strategy. Shows are Feb. 1-16. Tickets are $20 in advance or $22 at the door. 360-635-4358 or www.magentatheater.com.

3. The sweet buy and buy

It’s a new year and a new season for the family-friendly Terminal 1 Night Market, which has permanently moved from downtown Vancouver to the event center at WareHouse ’23, 100 Columbia St., Vancouver. Bring your curiosity and be ready to buy something special, because with over 80 local artists and artisans selling their handcrafted wares, the night market is a retail adventure with one-of-a-kind treasures. The 2019 schedule is 5 to 10 p.m. Feb. 1, March 22, April 26, May 10, June 7, July 12, Aug. 2, Sept. 6, Oct. 4 and Nov. 23, with Saturday night markets on July 13 and Nov. 24. www.nightmarketvancouver.com

4. To be, or not to be

Pacific Stagework’s production of “I Hate Hamlet” follows successful television actor Andrew Rally — who is living in the late John Barrymore’s New York City apartment — as he struggles with the role of Denmark’s famous prince. Meanwhile, he’s tormented by both Barrymore’s ghost and his girlfriend, who is determined to maintain her chastity. Performances are Feb. 1-10 at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 315 S.E. Olympia Drive, Vancouver. Tickets are $17 general admission or $15 for seniors and military; buy tickets at www.pacificstageworks.com or call 360-795-1161.

5. The next generation

Clark County Historical Museum will launch its 2019 First Thursday Speaker Series at 7 p.m. Feb. 7, with “NAACP Generations: Vancouver NAACP Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.” This event will feature conversations with past, current, and future presidents of the Vancouver NAACP in a panel moderated by Jane Elder Wulff, author of “First Families of Vancouver’s African American Community.” Doors will open at 5 p.m. General admission is $5, seniors and students are $4, children under 18 are $3, and the evening is free with museum membership. 360-993-5679 or www.cchmuseum.org
