Letter: End personal exemption for vaccines

By James Lanz, Vancouver
Published: February 4, 2019, 6:00am

I support HB 1638 co-sponsored by Reps. Paul Harris and Monica Stonier. This bill would eliminate the personal exemption that allows parents to avoid getting their children vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella. As a retired public health nurse, I am very concerned about the current measles outbreak in Clark County and beyond. It’s time to protect all our children against preventable illness, not just some of them.
