Boys basketball: Curtis 63, Battle Ground 56

For three quarters, the Tigers hung close. But No. 9-ranked Curtis pulled away late in the first round of the bi-district tournament.

Battle Ground led 30-28 at halftime and ended to third quarter on a 11-4 run to pull even at 41.

But Curtis opened the fourth quarter on an 11-3 run, then held the lead by making foul shots down the stretch.

Vincent McCormic scored 12 to lead Battle Ground (14-8), which is scheduled to face Auburn in the consolation round.

Zack Paulsen scored 30 to lead Curtis (17-4).
