Gresham woman killed, reportedly dumped in Pennsylvania river

Portland — A Gresham woman who moved to Pennsylvania late last year was killed and reportedly dumped into a river, according to a report.

KATU-TV reportsHaley Lorenzen, 24, moved to northeast Pennsylvania in November after forming an online relationship with Phillip Walters — who’s now accused of killing her.

Walters reported her missing in late December, according to local police cited by KATU. A woman who was also dating him told authorities he killed Lorenzen, according to court documents cited by the news station.

Police said the woman found her dead in Walters’ apartment, according to the news station. She allegedly helped Walters get rid of her body by dumping it in the Susquehanna River.

Walters, 31, was arrested and accused of murder, according to KATU.

Lorenzen’s body hasn’t yet been recovered, the news station reports, and her family traveled from Gresham to Pennsylvania to help with the search and recovery.

A dinner to raise funds to cover expenses connected to Lorenzen’s disappearance and death is set for March 23at a Gresham church. Anonline crowdfunding accounthas also been established. And KATU reports people can donate to the cause at U.S. Bank branches by referencing the “Haley Lorenzen Benefit Fund.”
