Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, seems to have lots of time to give advice to Oregon and Portland about the decisions they make for their citizens. With all due respect, she may represent Southwest Washington, but unless she wants to be part of the solution, she should butt out.
Her past forays into Oregon politics involved their decisions to toll roads and build a new bridge across the Columbia River. Her efforts were ignored at best or destructive at worst. Now, she’s asking the Portland City Council to reconsider its decision to withdraw from the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. My sense is that Oregon’s politicians get a good chuckle out of the “whining representative” from Washington.
Considering her obedient acquiesce to the corrupt Trump administration, she’s got a lot of nerve telling Oregon lawmakers how to govern their state. Her track record is more than pathetic.
After eight years in Congress, she should focus on getting something of substance done for her constituents, quit fighting with Oregon, and reevaluate her slovenly devotion to the most corrupt president in U.S. history.
