Letter: Words from the pope

By Jim Comrada, Vancouver
Published: January 1, 2019, 6:00am

“You are immense and you made yourself small; you are rich and you made yourself poor; you are all-powerful and you made yourself vulnerable.” So said Pope Francis of Jesus. He went on to say that those considered among the least and the outcasts (the shepherds) were also the first to receive news of the baby’s birth.

It is humbling to be so reminded of what Jesus was to the world, a man of simple beginnings whose message ultimately was all-inclusive and one of peace, love, and forgiveness.

Here’s hoping for a truly new year in 2019!
