Boys basketball: Kelso 70, Battle Ground 39

The Tigers had no answer for Kelso’s Shaw Anderson, who poured in 32 points a non-league rout.

Fresh off a bracket championship at the Surf N Slam Tournament in San Diego, Battle Ground was rudely ushered into 2019 by the Hilanders (10-1).

Kelso held the Tigers to five points in the second and third quarters, extending an 18-12 lead to 56-22.

Keandre Hunter-Holliday had 16 to pace Battle Ground (9-4), which was again without leading scorer Kaden Perry.
