West Van for Youth and the Children’s Home Society will offer a free, 18-week parenting course for 10 parents who live in the 98660, 98661 and 98663 ZIP codes.

The Incredible Years parenting classes are for parents and caregivers of children ages 2 to 8. Classes will focus on play, promoting language, social and emotional skills and handling misbehavior. According to the organization, children whose parents complete the class are less likely to have behavioral or school problems, or use drugs later in life.

Classes run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. every Wednesday starting Jan. 9 through May 8. Each session is hosted at the Children’s Home Society at 1112 Columbia St., Vancouver. Light meals and child care will be provided.

To register, call the Children’s Home Society at 360-695-1325 and ask for West Van for Youth.
