Behind 17 first half points from freshman standout Aniyah Hampton, Hudson’s Bay hopped out to a 23-point halftime lead and never let Mountain View back in it.

The Thunder scored the first nine points in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 12, but the Eagles pulled away.

“We got the momentum back, extended the lead out again,” Bay coach Michael Rainville said.

Hampton, who is averaging the second-most points per game in the county, finished with 19 points.

“She was driving to the basket, finding people,” Rainville said.

Gabriela Garcia hit three 3s in the first quarter to give Bay, which had a season high assist count as a team, a “big lift.”

Kamelai Powell finished with 11 points for the Eagles.

Paytin Ballard had 12 points to lead Mountain View.
