A minivan struck a girl Wednesday afternoon in Salmon Creek, sending her to the hospital and blocking nearby roads.

Clark County sheriff’s deputies responded about 3:10 p.m. to call about a vehicle hitting a pedestrian at the intersection of Northwest Third Avenue and Northwest 114th Street, according to the sheriff’s office.

The initial investigation found that a Chrysler minivan was heading west on 114th Street when the girl ran in front of the vehicle. The girl was conscious at the scene, the sheriff’s office said, and was taken to a hospital.

The driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. Excessive speed or driver impairment did not appear to be a factor in the crash, the sheriff’s office said.
