Community Home Health & Hospice will offer an eight-week, free grief support group for survivors of suicide loss.

The class will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays from Feb. 7 through March 28 at Seasons of Hope Grief Center, 3102 N.E. 134th St., Vancouver. It will be facilitated by hospice volunteer Rick Sievers.

“Those first two months, I felt like I was having a heart attack every day,” Jarl Peterson, a group participant, said in a press release. “I want everyone to know about this group. I want to reach as many people as possible.”

This group focuses on the grieving process of suicide bereavement. You can learn about the biology of suicide, and meet other families dealing with grief. After completing the course, attendees then continue to meet monthly in an open-ended group. They can come once, or indefinitely.

Only one member of a family should participate in each eight-week session so the person can focus specifically on their grief. Registration is requested. Please call 360-703-0300 or email griefsupport@chhh.org.
