Two middle school students in Roseburg were arrested Thursday and a third was issued a citation after police say they lied when they reported seeing a group of masked people with guns last week planning a shooting at their school.

Two 12-year-old boys were booked into the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of first-degree disorderly conduct, and an 11-year-old boy was cited on the same charge.

The threat was reported last Thursday at Joseph Lane Middle School. Officers determined the threat was false about an hour later, Roseburg police said.

Investigators later determined the three boys were involved. Police haven’t identified the students.
