Boys basketball: La Center 90, Stevenson 49

Hunter Ecklund and Avery Seter each scored 24 points as the Wildcats dominated on the road.

The win sets up a showdown at King’s Way Christian on Friday, with the winner claiming the 1A Trico League title.

“It’s going to be the best high school basketball in town that night,” La Center coach Jeremy Ecklund said. “I told our guys, this is what high school basketball is all about with a league title on the line. You tell everyone you know to be in that gym.”

La Center (8-1, 14-2) jumped to a 27-9 lead in the first quarter. Matt Bryant added 15 points and Evan Norris had 15 rebounds.

Reigning league MVP Isaac Hoidal was held to 11 points for Stevenson (3-6, 8-11).
