Evergreen Habitat for Humanity is launching a new home repair program to help low-income homeowners make their homes safer, healthier and more accessible.
Called the Critical Home Repair program, it allows Habitat for Humanity to complete extensive interior projects such as retrofitting a bathroom, repairing a leaking roof or making a home more accessible for people with disabilities.
This builds on the nonprofit’s existing exterior home repair program called A Brush With Kindness.
The program will focus on major issues that affect the health, safety and structural integrity of a home, in order to preserve housing stock, provide safer and healthier environments for families, beautify neighborhoods and maintain home equity, according to an annoucement.
