Letter: Inslee should drop bid

Jay Inslee isn’t the most exciting governor we have ever had, but he certainly has been competent and very good at getting needed legislation through the state Legislature. That being said, since he has to choose soon which election he wants to run in, he should drop out of the presidential race, run for governor again, work hard to make sure the Democratic ticket gets elected and then become head of the EPA or a cabinet position related to the environment. In fact, the Democrats have a whole plethora of good people who are currently running against each other and potentially tearing the party to shreds.

I truly believe Democrats should run the presidential and vice presidential candidates likeliest to win nationally and also offer the country a whole list of suggested capable cabinet and department heads they would appoint drawn from the rest of the declared Democratic candidates. It would be such an exciting contrast to Trump’s circus car of clowns and seriously dangerous “advisers” without costing us a good governor in the process. It would certainly demonstrate that the Democratic Party is united for the greater good of the America people.

Imagine that! I know this has never been done before, but these are extraordinary times and they call for extraordinary measures.
