Two years ago, The Columbian printed a letter that I submitted titled “An amoral society” (Our Readers’ Views, Jan. 15, 2017), in which I opine that if we, as Americans, were willing to accept the “New Normal” ethic that was being promoted, it would put us on the slippery slope toward hedonism. Well, here we are, where anything and everything is acceptable.
Where is the moral outrage from the religious, political and institutional arbiters of America’s morality? Could it be that they all are experiencing the St. Peter moment, that of denial? I don’t know, I am just asking.
