A bullet struck a car on eastbound state Highway 14 in Vancouver on Tuesday night, causing injuries to the driver.

When the bullet struck the vehicle, glass shattered into the woman’s face, WSP Trooper Will Finn said Sunday in an email. She was taken to a hospital for facial injuries and is recovering well, Finn said.

In a Facebook post, Jessyca Colleen Sweeten said she was driving when the bullet came within inches of her head. The bullet came from the north between North Lieser Road and Southeast Ellsworth roads, she said.

Police currently don’t have any leads on a potential suspect, Sweeten said. She added that investigators found bullet fragments in the car.

WSP confirmed Thursday afternoon that a bullet struck the car, Finn said. More information about the incident is expected in a press release Monday. The driver is also scheduled to appear Monday at a 1 p.m. news conference.
