Letter: All of this looks familiar

Why is it I feel like I am in Germany and the year is 1939? Up on a stage is a little man screaming (I will make Germany great again), and Jewish people are being gathered up by storm troopers, and all of Germany is to believe that what they see and what they read is all a lie and what this little man says is the only truth.

But this is the USA in 2019, and history seems to be repeating itself. A tall bleached blond man is screaming “I will make America great again,” ICE is gathering up Hispanic people while thousands of children and adults are being held in cages under the filthiest conditions and this tall bleached blond overweight man, our president, is saying the very same words: Don’t believe TV news, don’t believe what newspapers or the radio are saying. Believe only me. “I will make America great again.”

As we sink further in debt and our world credibility sinks even faster: Do you believe him?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
