Letter: Support Hawks-Conright for board

By Patty Page, Vancouver
Published: July 31, 2019, 6:00am

Jennifer Hawks-Conright’s statement as a Vancouver schools board candidate includes this: “I would like to see our school district incorporate renewable energy with all facilities so that they sustain themselves … saving the school district millions of dollars that could be focused on more programing and increased employment.”

Facing climate change and educating our children are two urgent challenges. Hawks-Conright’s insight pairs those two challenges, especially relevant as VPS has embarked on a multi-million dollar construction program. I’ll be voting for her in the primary and watching hopefully to hear more about her aspirations for this synergy.
