EVERETT — A 77-year-old man accused of killing a young Washington woman in 1972 has been released on bail.
The Daily Herald reports Terrence Miller was released Friday after posting a $750,000 bond.
The Edmonds man has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Jody Loomis.
Court documents say Miller’s DNA was found on a boot Loomis wore when she was shot in the head in the woods near Mill Creek.
Authorities say a genealogist used the DNA to build a family tree that led Snohomish County investigators to Miller.
