The Vancouver HomeTown Buffet restaurant closed permanently on Monday, and its remaining assets are to be auctioned this week. The former restaurant was located at 7809-B N.E. Vancouver Plaza Drive. As of Tuesday afternoon, the local restaurant’s phone line disconnects after one ring, and the location is no longer listed on the parent company’s directory of locations.

Online auction company Auction Nation announced the closure in a press release on Tuesday, and said it would be conducting the auction through its website, auctionnation.com. Registration is free and open to the public, and the auction will be live until noon Thursday. There will be an open house preview from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday.

Auction Nation president Gabriel Prado described the public auction as an opportunity for longtime customers to own a piece of the restaurant, or for newcomers to the restaurant industry to acquire equipment and supplies.

Prado said he didn’t know the exact circumstances that led to the closure, but said the restaurant’s parent company has previously closed locations that were underperforming.
