Ridgefield beat Cowlitz to take series

The Raptors used a trio of two-run innings in Longview Thursday to earn a fourth straight series win. They tallied double-digit hits (11 on Thursday) for the third consecutive night at David Story Field, and Zach Barnes, Ethan Clough and Peter Allegro got the job done on the hill.

KEY MOMENTS: Justin Boyd doubled home Grayson Sterling to get the scoring started in the second inning. Peter Allegro struck out two batters to earn his first save of the year.

KEY PLAYERS: Grand Canyon University’s Zach Barnes continued his stellar summer, going seven innings with four strikeouts and just one earned run. He has allowed four earned runs in 20 innings this summer. Boise State’s Michael Hicks was 2 for 5 with three RBI.

NEXT GAME: Hayesville Hammers at Ridgefield, 6:35 p.m. Friday (non-counting game).
