Letter: Trump criminality breathtaking

The criminality of the Trump administration is breathtaking. Robert Mueller cited 10 examples of obstruction of justice in his report, and over 1,000 former federal prosecutors said that, were Trump not president, he’d have been arrested already.

Recently, the Office of Special Counsel cited Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway’s “disregard for the law” in recommending her dismissal, but our president said she’d stay on; Trump has ignored lawful congressional subpoenas and sued his former accountant to prevent compliance with a subpoena; and his administration ignored the law in refusing to hand over his tax returns to Congress in spite of clear precedent that this should be done.

It’s illegal to accept “anything of value” from a foreign national during an election. Trump, in saying that he’d accept Russian assistance, is telling us that he will break the law to get elected. I called Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler’s office and was told by her staffer that she didn’t know the representative’s position but that Herrera Beutler would get back to me. To date, I haven’t heard or seen anything from her, or any Republican, objecting to this blatant illegality.
