Letter: Green New Deal unrealistic

By Gerald R. Johnson, Washougal

In his Feb. 18 letter (“Support Green New Deal”), Pete Kuntz bragged that the Green New Deal would eliminate the need for carbon-based fuels in America by the year 2030. Oh my, that is just so amazing. Will it give us uniforms too?

Give me a break. We can’t even get an additional bridge built across the Columbia River to speed up traffic flow on Interstate 5. To completely reconfigure our nation’s transportation and electricity-generating infrastructure is about three orders of magnitude more challenging than erecting a bridge across a river.
