Prep Highlights: River boys soccer opens league with win

Jake Connop and Marcos Diaz scored two goals each as the Columbia River boys soccer team opened 2A Greater St. Helens League play with a 6-1 victory over Hockinson on Wednesday.

Maks Yurichko and Ian Hahn added goals for the Chieftains.

• Skylar Groesbeck, Skyview softball, hit a home run and a double, accounting for five RBI, in a 25-2 win over Washougal.

• Mikelle Anthony, Skyview softball, hit a home run and a double while going 4 for 5 in a 25-2 win over Washougal.

• Spencer Anderson, Ridgefield baseball, tossed a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and two walks in an 11-0 win over La Center.

• Olivia Grey, Woodland softball, threw second-straight 19-strikeout game while giving up two hits in a 7-0 win over La Center.

• Wyatt Wooden, Woodland baseball, threw six strikeouts and gave up two hits in five shutout innings in a 12-0 win over Castle Rock.

• Emma Carroll, Camas softball, went 2 for 2 with a home run and two RBI in an 18-3 win over Parkrose (Ore.).

• Nate Leu, Battle Ground boys soccer, posted five saves in a 2-0 shutout of Evergreen.

• Trey Knight, Ridgefield boys track and field, opened league by winning the shot put (63-5.5) and discus (175-9) against R.A. Long.

• Ethan Jud, Camas boys soccer, scored two goals and assisted two more in a 6-2 nonleague win over Prairie.
