Ridgefield — The Clark County Sheriff’s Department and Ridgefield Police Department visited South Ridge Elementary School recently as part of the Police Activities League, which aims to connect kids and their local police officers. Deputies gave a presentation on safety and talked to students about all the gear they carry every day, including a badge, pistol and magazines, taser, radio, cell phone, pens, handcuffs and glasses. The officers also covered stranger danger, 911, car safety, bike safety and water safety. After the presentation, students lined up for a tour of vehicles, including cruisers and a boat.
