Clark baseball splits pair at Lane

The Clark College baseball team split a pair of NWAC South games against Lane on Friday at Eugene, losing the opener 8-4 but winning the second game 5-1.

Prairie High grad Josiah Nickel (4-3) pitched a complete-game six-hitter for the Penguins in the second game.

Jack Fletcher was 3 for 4 with an RBI to lead Clark’s nine-hit attack.

Fletcher was also 2 for 5 in the first game with two runs scored. Connor Wojahn hit a solo home run, and Kai Perreira was 1 for 3 with two RBI in the loss.

Clark (19-21, 8-10 NWAC South, fifth place) hosts Lane (17-17, 9-9, 4th place) in a doubleheader Saturday at Kindsfather Field beginning at 1 p.m.

SOFTBALL — The Penguins host Lower Columbia in doubleheader beginning at noon Saturday in their final regular season home games. Clark (10-20, 8-13 NWAC South) will play its final four division games on the road.
