ORCHARDS — Students at Frontier Middle School celebrated Poem in Your Pocket Day on April 18 with an egg hunt. Teachers hid eggs containing poems throughout their classrooms. Students put the poems in their pockets and in return received pieces of candy for finding them. There was an open mic on April 19, and on April 26 the school staged a competition for the middle school’s Poetry Jam/Slams, where students walked the red carpet and got on stage to read the poems they found. People in the community judged the competition and gave away gift cards to winners.
