Letter: Beware of abortion restrictions

By Sandra Edmonson, Vancouver
Published: May 22, 2019, 6:00am

Last week, Alabama passed the most draconian anti-abortion bill in the country. Numerous other Republican-controlled states are following suit. The Republicans have been working on this for many years and now they believe they have the “right” people installed on the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade so it is full speed ahead.

Think it can’t happen in Washington? On March 21, Rep. Matt Shea, R-Spokane Valley, introduced House Bill 2154 that is identical to the one passed in Alabama. Interestingly, Rep. Vicki Kraft, R-Vancouver, is one of the co-sponsors.

Just a heads-up. Take action!
