I’m wondering if I am the only person that is in complete shock over the state of our local schools. I am so tired of hearing the same response from the public of cutting teachers’ salaries and cutting the support staff to fund repairs and fulfill basic needs. We need more than this.
I am asking the local community: Why is it that we are unable to pass a bond in a local school district that will benefit the well-being of children? Why wouldn’t you do something that benefits the lives of the local children in this community? Why can’t we put our differences aside and do what’s right for the kids?
We need to come together as a community and put our political differences aside to help the children. Individuals in the districts that have inflated salaries need to do what’s right and take a fair salary so more funds to go to the district. The areas that need to be investigated for cuts are the ones that do not impact the children; they don’t care how much administration gets paid, they care that they eat lunch in a classroom because they don’t have a cafeteria.
