2A GSHL Football: Washougal 51, R.A. Long 6

The Panthers tuned up for their playoff game next week by dominating on both sides of the ball in a rout over R.A. Long at Fishback Stadium.

Washougal (5-4, 4-2) finishes as the No. 3 seed from the 2A Greater St. Helens League. The Panthers will travel to Chehalis to face W.F. West, the No. 2 seed from the 2A Evergreen Conference, in the state preliminary round.

The Panthers rolled up 373 yards from scrimmage and held R.A. Long to just 74 yards. Dalton Payne threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Gavin Multer added 94 yards rushing on four carries and two touchdowns.

The lone score for R.A. Long’s (0-6, 1-8) came on the last play of the game when Jamond Harris hit Gage Kotera for a 65-yard touchdown.
