The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a call Saturday afternoon concerning a weapon fired during a dispute in Hazel Dell. Sgt. Craig Randall said the public is not considered to be at risk.

Randall said a person who operates a mobile repair van was summoned to meet a customer behind the El Tapatio restaurant in a strip mall at the southwest corner of Northeast 62nd Street and Highway 99. Some kind of verbal dispute ensued, Randall said, and a suspect in a white Chevy Impala fired a shot, striking the repair van’s windshield.

The repair van was able to drive away, and the driver called 911 from a different location. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the call at 2:40 p.m., and the driver returned to the strip mall to assist with the investigation, Randall said.

Late Saturday afternoon, Randall said no suspects had yet been located.
