Letter: The swamp runs deep

Imaad Zuberi, longtime bundler for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and late arriving donor for Donald Trump, solicited funds from foreigners and passed them on to candidates. He created fake names, allowing the politicians to claim ignorance.

Hunter Biden offers no description of the skills and credentials, other than his last name, which justified being paid more than half a million dollars per year by a foreign company. Anderson Cooper, a celebrity no one appointed judge in this matter, assures us that Hunter’s activities provide no evidence of wrongdoing.

I believe that many voters cast their vote for Donald Trump in 2016 not because they desired a Trump presidency, but because they were utterly sick of the protected corruption of those in power. Time after time, voters elect school teachers and small-town mayors to Congress, to witness them return with inexplicable wealth and unmatched legal protections. If a candidate for president was demonstrably above enriching themselves in the Washington swamp, I would vote for them. As it is, I will probably just stay home.
