Letter: Think about the working class

To our politicians, apartment complex owners, manufactured home parks owners or other greedy groups that can never get enough: Think about “them.” The regular people who do the labor that you look down on. They make the machines that cut the wood or process the your food. They load or unload the trucks that give the store workers the products to fill the shelves. They serve in the Army, Marines, Navy or Air Force so you can be safe in your homes.

They worked all their lives to have the last few years to enjoy retirement, helped by a Social Security check and maybe a retirement deposit. Just a few years, then leave something for their kids or other family members.

But you want everything you can get, because you believe you deserve it. Some of “them” can’t pay the excessive rent so they are homeless, living in their car but still working everyday. Some of “them” just have enough to continue living in their apartment or home park but cannot afford enough for food or medical needs.

Keep thinking about “them” on your next trip to Europe, or when buying your next luxury car.

Remember: If everyone was a millionaire, who would deliver the milk?
