Letter: Do right by U.S., not Russia

By David Miller, Brush Prairie

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler continues to shield President Trump, despite the ample evidence of his Ukrainian extortion scheme. The phone call transcript and credible testimony of witnesses proves he tried to shake down President Zelenskiy for dirt on Joe Biden as well as propagating a bogus conspiracy theory that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered in our election.

What is happening to our country when Republicans and Trump are pushing agendas favorable to Putin and Russia? Herrera Beutler only does what the Republican leadership tells her to do. How about doing what’s right for our country, not Russia?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
