Letter: Letter shows our blind spots

In response to the letter “Our creator controls climate” (Our Readers’ Views, Oct. 7), I’m not sure where to start. The audacity of saying that a young person has no maturity or wisdom? The smug belief that being older proves that the author’s beliefs are absolutely correct for future generations? (I’m 72, by the way). Or the complete ignorance of what science is telling us in no uncertain terms is going to happen to that young generation while we oldsters will be absent? We will be held responsible, regardless.

To Greta Thunberg: Please know that there are many of us, old and young, that agree with you and are capable of comprehending what is happening around us. We support you and your message. There are none so blind as those who will not see.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
