Prep highlights: Meindersee’s two goals lift Hockinson

Her second goal forced OT, where Hawks won on PKs

Megan Meindersee scored both regulation goals for Hockinson, including the tying goal in the closing minutes to force overtime, where the Hawks won in a shootout for a 3-2 (5-4 PKs) victory Tuesday over Washougal in 2A GSHL girls soccer.

Meindersee’s goal in the 76th minute tied the game at 2-2 after Washougal held leads of 1-0 and 2-1. Aurora Espinoza scored both the Panthers’ goals, including the first that gave Washougal a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The win lifts Hockinson into sole possession of third place with two regular-season games remaining. The Panthers slipped to fourth place.

Slowpitch softball

R.A. Long, Kelso and Prairie advanced in the 3A/2A slowpitch softball district tournament.

R.A. Long will face Prairie in a semifinal Thursday at Fort Vancouver. Kelso will play the Washougal-Mark Morris winner. Those two teams play Wednesday.

Skyview beat Battle Ground 13-3 and advanced to play Heritage on Friday in the 4A district playoffs.

• Katie Willis, Seton Catholic girls soccer, had 11 saves in goal in a 2-0 loss to Castle Rock.

• Reggie Griffith, Columbia River girls soccer, scored a hat trick and added an assist in a 7-0 shutout of R.A. Long.

• Alexis Sadler, Mountain View girls soccer, had two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Fort Vancouver.

• Caroline Hansen, Columbia River volleyball, had 18 assists in a sweep of R.A. Long.

• Katie Kogler, Firm Foundation volleyball, had a match-high 29 kills, 13 digs and five blocks in a five-set win over Three Rivers Christian.

• Tiffany Chandler, La Center volleyball, had a match-high 18 kills and 10 digs in a sweep of Columbia-White Salmon.

• Sidnie Boadwine, Battle Ground girls soccer, had two goals in a 4-0 shutout of Heritage.

• Mackenzie Hancock, Camas volleyball, had 16 assists, 8 digs and 7 kills in a sweep of Union to remain unbeaten in 4A GSHL play.

• Adrienne Truex, Fort Vancouver slowpitch softball, went 4 for 5 with three runs and three RBI, as the Trappers went 1-1 on the first day of the 3A/2A district tournament.

• Nadia Bejar, Prairie girls soccer, scored two goals for the Falcons in a 6-1 league win over Hudson’s Bay.
