2A GSHL football: Mark Morris 42, R.A. Long 7


It would be special teams and rushing that would dominate the day in the Civil War game.

Keoni Makaiwi of Mark Morris would get all 12 of his carries in the first half, rushing for 142 yards and a touchdown, as the Monarchs defeated the Lumberjacks.

Special teams play for the Monarchs would result in three big plays. Marco Valdivia-Aldana recovered a high snap over the punter’s head in the end zone for the Monarchs third touchdown of the first quarter.

Jaden Anderson would have two recoveries on special teams in the game. First on a blocked punt at the 2 yard line, which would lead to a Miguel Parra 2-yard touchdown run. Second came late in the game on a fumbled punt return.

R.A. Long’s Gage Kotera led all receivers with seven receptions and 98 yards.
