Columbia Sportswear beats Street forecasts

PORTLAND — Columbia Sportswear Co. (COLM) on Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $119.3 million.

On a per-share basis, the Portland-based company said it had profit of $1.75.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.55 per share.

The maker of outdoor gear posted revenue of $906.8 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $886.8 million.
