Letter: Break spell of Trump cult

Jaime Herrera Beutler’s feign in the economic well-being of Southwest Washington residents has left me shocked beyond belief.

First, her attempt to call out Gov. Jay Inslee in support of no tolls on the Interstate 5 Bridge is complete hypocrisy. Don’t Republicans support private industry helping out on this bridge? If so, tolls are inevitable.

Second, if she’s so concerned with small government and economic stability, quit supporting anti-choice movements. Forcing a woman to give birth against her will is barbaric and keeps poor women poor. As a woman of means, I’ll have an abortion anytime I want, as is my right. Remember, it is a zygote, an embryo, a fetus, and then, if all goes well, a child. Regardless, 100 percent my body, my life, my family planning, my right; not the government’s. So much for small government.

Third, if she really cared about our economic well-being, she would work on Washington residents paying Oregon taxes. That’s taxation without representation.

Lastly, supporting tariffs? They’re an unnecessary tax. No one wins in a trade war, and the people lose. Time to start thinking, Jaime. Quit patting the president’s back and break the spell of the Trump cult as we are all getting poorer.
