Non-league football: Columbia-White Salmon 61, Ilwaco 0

The host Bruins scored early and often in this non-league matchup with Ilwaco, scoring 33 points in the first quarter.

Capitalizing on a suffocating defense, Columbia held Ilwaco to 26 total yards while forcing three fumbles. The Bruins racked up 300 yards rushing and 72 yards passing in the first half to take a 47-0 lead.

Columbia’s Austin Charters finished with four carries for 105 yards, including a 60 yard scoring run, to lead the Bruins’ 438 yard rushing total. Charters also passed for 72 yards to give the Bruins a 510-26 total yards advantage over Ilwaco.

Alarick Blankenship and Bowen Durkee combined for 123 yards rushing and four touchdowns to lead Columbia, who had seven different players score touchdowns. Angel Sanchez added an 80 yard kickoff return to open the second half for the Bruins, who move to 2-0 on the season.

Columbia hosts Montesano next Friday.
