Letter: Support Burkman for port

By Jan Verrinder, VANCOUVER
Published: September 14, 2019, 6:00am

Jack Burkman, running for port commissioner, is a sensible man who’ll think through the many port issues. His transportation experience (Regional Transportation Council, Metro, C-Tran) will benefit us.

Jack knows climate change is a major issue and backs the port’s goal to protect our resources through proactive measures.

Jack has given his expertise to us locally: League of Latin American Citizens, YWCA, Human Rights Commission, Southwest Clean Air Agency, Clark County Planning, Fort Vancouver Regional Library, Clark College, Vancouver City Council.

Jack supports the port’s creation of a Trails and Access Plan.

Look at his experience and endorsements. Impressive.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
